I graduated from Saint Mary’s College in Notre Dame, Indiana in 2002 with a degree in art and a concentration of study in photography. I started photographing children in 2005 and haven’t turned back. Over the years I’ve fallen in love with contemporary photography artwork, but I focus on the expressions, joy, giggles and wonder that children innately keep in their hearts. It is my mission to show these feelings in the images I create. The best compliment I receive, time and time again, is the happiness that parents feel when they see their child’s true personality come through in my portraits.
In May of 2005, I started the studio in my home in South Bend. I stayed there for less than a year and moved to a much bigger storefront on Douglas Road in April of 2006. I stayed there until April of 2016. The studio grew from a small mom and pop studio photographing children and families to a 10-person operation photographing at the studio and two local hospitals. It was quite an adventure!
In the fall of 2015 it was time for a change. I began moving the studio to our home in Edwardsburg, Michigan (just north of the Indiana/Michigan border) and went back to school to get my teaching certification. I currently teach art to grades pre-K through 8th grade in addition to creating portrait photography artwork. My home studio is a dream come true and has only further deepened my love of photographing children.
I am delighted that you have stopped by and hope that you will consider me to photograph for your family. There is no greater joy than seeing a giggling child’s expression hanging on your living room wall. It is truly a moment to hold on to and remember forever.
