NILMDTSInfant Bereavement Photography Now I Lay Me Down To Sleep is a non-profit organization of photographers that provide portraits for families experiencing the loss of a baby. Traditions Photography is a dedicated member of NILMDTS and serves the Michiana area for families in need. If you know of a family who is in need of heirloom portraits of their baby, please do not hesitate to contact Traditions, or another participating photographer in the area. Please visit the website for the organization listed below, or contact us directly at (574) 271-7751. Owners Eileen & Michael Dimino share their story about when they first heard about Now I Lay Me Down To Sleep. Our son, Jacob, was only 5 months old. We were giddy new parents, and loved it! We attended a photography conference and learned about a photographer who had founded this organization with a parent of one of the babies she photographed. There was no way either of us could photograph sick babies. How could ANYONE do this? As time went on, we watched Jacob grow and wondered what life would be like without him. We couldn't imagine. At that point, we knew we had to be a part of this organization. Now we wondered how anyone COULDN'T be a part of NILMDTS. It's one of the most trying and heartwrenching places to be in the world - with a family who has lost, or is about to lose, their precious little one. At the same time, we are honored to be able to offer this special gift of portraits at a time when it may be difficult to focus on "remembering" a baby. Please join me in continuing to pray for, and remember, all the babies who have gone before us and their families who have held them for too short a time. |
